Graduations and Weddings

This summer we were blessed to participate in a number of celebrations. A few of our friends had high school senior graduates. Here are the honored graduates: Derek , oldest son of Ed and Rhonda Zack, youngest of 3 children of Joel and Jill Daniel, oldest son of Andrew and Melanie Kyle, youngest son of Greg and Lori Greg and Lori had another event, their son Christian's wedding to Sarah. Christian and Sarah met through E-Harmony. Another success story :) The ceremony took place in a beautiful church. Christian's Mom sang while Sarah's Mom accompanied her on the piano. We also got to be a part of Katrina and Louis's wedding ceremony. Katrina's grandparents stood up during the ceremony and imparted their wisdom of a long and solid marriage. Alex had the privilege of standing in as Best Man to his good friend Luke in his wedding to Jaclyn. Luke's mom took this picture of Alex and Keegan at the wedding. God has given us so many great friends and we are grateful to be a part of these celebrations.

I'm A Birthday Girl

Yesterday was my birthday. Sally, Katie and Lauren took me to breakfast and then we went for pedicures. Here are our Mother/Daughter toes: Lauren and I are red toe nailed in our functional, basic, reef flip flops, whereas Sally and Katie are pink, polka dotted and plaid. We hit the mall next, for some shopping. Later, dinner with the fam, minus Alex (in Panama) and Tim (working). A lovely, fun day!

Cousin Alex came with Keeg in tow And cousin Lauren with cousin Tim The grandmas ooh and aah over the presents WHAT?! Where are the 14 candles conveniently spaced all over the cake to blow out? Shocking and Appalling. Some nice gifts.....gel and lotion.....a funny book about cats fun family reading And now for the baby photos...When I heard Katie had arrived, I jumped in the car and headed to Anaheim to hold her and welcome her Her first trip to Lake Powell One year old Lady Katherine, I wish you a lovely year being 14. The Dog Park

While Lauren and Tim were away, Paul and I were puppy sitting. We decided to take Sima, AKA "Special Ed" and Roscoe, AKA "Special Needs" to the Dog Park where they could interact with other dogs and run off some energy. They are so funny when they are with other dogs! Sima wants to play with Roscoe only, and Roscoe wants to prove to every other dog that although small in stature, he is able to take them on, one at a time or all at once. We miss our Roxy and think about another dog. I saw a beautiful black standard poodle last week (No Lauren, I won't get a poodle). We'll most likely have another springer spaniel or maybe a lab, but Paul wants a puppy and I just can't do that! The thought of a puppy chewing up everything and peeing on my rugs....Ack! He says he doesn't like them......But I think He does wink

TOTALLY AWESOME TIM

The family got together at Lauren and Tim's home to celebrate Tim's 31st birthday. Since I don't have any baby/growing up photos of him, I thought I would do a slide show of his many expressions:

Tim is not one to seek out the center stage spotlight, so his party was low-key and relaxing. We enjoyed some pulled pork, salads, cookies, and cake. Tim's mom, Cindy made the yummy cake. After much persuading, we got Tim to open his gifts. I think the new camera flash unit was a hit! Katie did a homemade card from her family. Can you believe this guy has never seen a sock monkey? It was on the front of the gift bag and he claims to be unfamiliar with that toy. Lauren had fun holding her niece Abbie. A new Ipod from his sweetheart! Lauren and Tim's nephew Elijah, had a great time rolling the exercise ball into the pool. After being buckled into her carseat to go home, Abbie gave her Auntie Lauren a big smile. Thank you Tim and Lauren for the nice party! Tim you are our..... and we're keeping you! TYFLMD

Unique Memorial Day

Normally we like to make the Memorial Day weekend our first trip of the season out to the river (Colorado). This year we had a change of plans and ended up staying home. However, it was a nice weekend with visiting friends and family. Then on Monday, my sweetheart said "get dressed, I'm taking you for pancakes". I had been mentioning how I was wanting some good pancakes, so we went to the Original Pancake House and I had fresh strawberry pancakes....YUM! I can't remember the last time I had anything that decadent for breakfast. Afterwards we shopped for some plants to put in the backyard. One of our rose bushes had died, so we replaced it with this one called Simplicity Yellow. Since we may be spending more time in our backyard this summer due to rising gas prices, we are trying to improve the foliage surrounding the pool. We also ordered replacement parts for our BBQ, so we're ready to grill, swim and sun!
